Ulster Vs Young Irelanders

Our Junior team also had a good run out against the Young Irelanders.
With the YI’s not being able to field the full compliment of players it meant the Ulster team were guaranteed the points before a ball was kicked. The game itself was played in difficult conditions since it was 11-a-side which left the players with a lot of work to do.
There were good performances on the day from Dungannon pair Ciaran Barker who helped himself to 1-04 and Barry Corrigan who was solid in defence. The midfield showed well at times especially Michael Corless who worked tirelessly. James McCann scored 2 beautiful long-range points while Down pair Paddy Mooney and Brian ‘Wabs’ Poland raised the white flag 7 times between them. The lads tired towards the end and some lapses in concentration allowed the YI’s in for a few fortuitous goals and the result got away from Ulster despite McKillion’s belter of a goal, but the lads can look forward to a Semi final in the coming weeks. Final score Ulster 2-14 YI 3-13
We want to thank our fantastic sponsors Fastnet and Sean Treacy for their continued support and our new Jerseys.
